Patients with POTS, dysautonomia and MCAS are among the most frequently dismissed people in healthcare — told their cardiology workup is "normal," that their symptoms are anxiety, or that they're deconditioned, while their own data says otherwise. They need a clinician who recognises the autonomic and mast-cell patterns, not just the individual result.
biio. was built for exactly these patients — hypermobility, dysautonomia, MCAS, hormones, chronic pain and fatigue, and the presentations that travel with them. In two years we've cared for more than 4,000 people across more than 17,000 consults and grown to a team of more than 50. We're now open in Melbourne, Perth and via telehealth, with Sydney and Brisbane to follow soon.
We're looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join us, working primarily with POTS, dysautonomia, MCAS and the presentations that travel alongside them. A background in cardiac, autonomic, women's health or integrative health is of particular interest but not essential — experience is valued, and curiosity about where these areas overlap matters just as much.
You won't carry these presentations alone. You'll work within a collaborative team of nurse practitioners whose combined expertise spans POTS and MCAS, hormonal and women's health, gut and GI health, sleep, mental health, pain management, cardiology and integrative medicine — alongside our medical consultants and allied health team, reasoning through complex cases together rather than in isolation. Before each consultation, the relevant picture is already assembled in our digital health platform, biio.graphy: specialist correspondence, autonomic and cardiac investigations where available, validated questionnaires and a structured symptom history, so you arrive ready to assess rather than rebuild the file. biio.graphy and our pathways structure the information, criteria and review; you decide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, risk and referral.
This is also a place to develop, and we've made that concrete. You'll have individual supervision and peer supervision built into how you work, a regular nurse practitioner team training and PD session, and a monthly cross-disciplinary PD where the wider team learns from each other's expertise. Practitioners who show they can carry more are progressed faster.
Integrated care breaks down the moment someone stops listening, so we hire for the opposite. The people who do well here are low-ego and high-EQ: they ask before they assume and they treat another discipline's read on a patient as something to learn from rather than defend against. Humility, openness and inclusivity aren't slogans here — they're the conditions that let a multidisciplinary team reason as one.
This will suit a Nurse Practitioner who is confident managing autonomic and mast-cell presentations, who prefers working alongside other disciplines rather than around them, and who wants to help open a new clinic rather than slot into a finished one. It's less suited to someone after a narrow, single-condition list.
The role can be onsite or fully remote/telehealth based on your needs. Minimum commitment of 2 days per week, ranging up to full time.
